WORLWIDE SURVEY OF BRITISH ARTILLERY

This third survey has been designed by the Ordnance Society to record the many British Breech-Loading and Quick-Firing Guns still in existence across the world.  There are hundreds of guns covering many calibres and types, that are located in Museums, Institutions, Parks and private collections.  Many are unknown outside their foreign ‘home’ and they are a part of our history which has not been studied or recorded in its entirety.

The data is in a similar format to our National Artillery Survey of the UK with a comprehensive range of data on individual guns, including photographs where available, and will also be freely available.

There is initially a single spreadsheet with separate pages for each calibre/gun type, and the first version has the 9.2-inch guns page with data, and blank pages for calibres from 15-inch to 5-inch (60-pr).  The many other smaller calibre pages will follow soon.

The initial version of the database is: –
