An new spreadsheet has been uploaded, with a large number of guns now linked to their photos.

There are even more photo links added to the survey, including some in the UK and the USA.  More photos of guns are still required, as well as data updates.

The Naval Dockyards Society’s 25th Annual Conference on March 27th 2021 will be ‘livestreamed’. An updated call for papers is on the ORDNANCE RELATED EVENTS page.

Many more photos have now been ‘hyperlinked’ from the British 6-inch Gun world-wide database, as well as some additional guns.

Ordnance Society Journal Vol. 27 is now available for download from the PUBLICATIONS page.  The password has been added to the Ordnance Society Journals Passwords file; also on the PUBLICATIONS page.

The latest Journal, Vol. 27, has just been posted out to members. The change to colour works particularly well in this edition. Hopefully, everyone should receive their copy in time for Christmas.

New links to photos and data updates have been made to the “6-inch Gun Survey”, as well as new pictures added to the “Flickr” pages.

The first photos have been linked to some of the guns in the list; they are ‘hyper-linked’ from the “Y” in the ‘Photos’ column.  They include guns both home and abroad and the Ordnance Society would welcome more photos of other guns to add to the database.

The Ordnance Society is pleased to announce a new project to run and support surveys of Breech-Loading (B.L.) guns.

A new web-page, GUN SURVEYS, has been added to the website, together with the first survey. This has been produced by O.S. Member Col. Bill Clements and is a world-wide listing of British 6-inch Breech-Loading Guns & Barrels. There are opportunities to enhance the database by filling in some of the gaps, and details are included on the page.

We aim to document the knowledge of B.L. guns and to ensure that records of these sometimes very rare items are maintained. Feedback is always welcome.
