The Ordnance Society

Ordnance & Artillery of All Periods

The Ordnance Society is preparing a huge range of ordnance related documents, extracts, photos and drawings which will be freely available to download.  They will cover the earliest artillery and components including ammunition, right up to current equipments.

The first items will be available this coming weekend.

The latest Newsletter, No. 129, is now available for download from the PUBLICATIONS page and is, for the first time, password free.  It is now open to all ordnance enthusiasts – welcome!

As many people may have more free time in the present Coronavirus Pandemic, the Ordnance Society will be removing the passwords from many of the downloadable Newsletters over the next week or two, enabling access to a wide range of articles relating to many aspects of ordnance.  We hope that this will help to relieve a little of the sad and worrying news at present.  The Newsletter indices are nearly up to date now and will be available for download very soon.

The Ordnance Society Visits Secretary has issued the following statement in relation to the Pandemic:

“We did have an extensive visit programme for this year, but things have obviously been disrupted by the pandemic. Some visits over the next few months have been cancelled, and those booked have been informed. We will wait and see how visits later in the year will be affected, but will not cancel visits after April until the situation is clearer”

I wish our members good luck in coping with the current situation.
